As I began writing this post it occurred to me that my recent posts involved more self-help types of topics than making money online. However, I sincerely believe these topics form the foundation for success in your online business, your conventional offline business, or your personal life. So here goes for those who have eyes and ears, let them see and hear.
Success is measured many different ways. Some consider success how much you have or how much money you make. Indeed most bloggers feel that way. There are contests underway by well-known sites competing for RSS Subscriptions. Oh, did I say Chow and Shoemoney? One or the other will win and be judged a success. Good for them.
Still others will judge themselves successful if they wake up tomorrow morning and their favorite banners and links have converted at some astronomical rate and bring lots of money. I would like to outline a few tools that can help you to achieve success in any area you desire success.
Get ready for opportunities ahead
There are exciting opportunities ahead regardless of where you are now. Prepare yourself to take advantage of them as they are presented. Determine what might limit you to fully benefit from each new opportunity. Success is more certain when you use the time you have today … to get ready
All it takes is your Best… give it your best today
Site visits don’t matter …just do your best today
Clicks don’t matter …just do your best today
You will learn as you go…just do your best today
Others will help you on your way …just do your best today
You will be able to measure your success when you…just do your best today
Others can and will help you succeed
Many will help you succeed. I have spoke of Rob Malon and what a help he has been to me. Still others will not. Successful people are almost always willing to share information to help someone else to succeed. Ask for specific advice but respect their time constraints. Others will help you on the road to success.
Business is a whole season not just one game
A baseball player who is successful 3 out of 10 times will be voted into the Hall of Fame. The Super bowl Champion this year will likely lose 2 or 3 games. They will be judged the best in their sport despite losing a few times. You can be like them. Learn from the inevitable losses and go on to a successful business season.
Replace all negatives with Positives
I have spoken to this before in my post Choose Your Attitude Choose Your Success. Fill your mind with positive thoughts, books, ideas, and people and the negatives are automatically eliminated because all the available space is taken up by the positives. Read everything you can get your hands on.
Take account of your successes and remember them
In business of any kind you will have ideas that just don’t work. It’s natural and necessary. Remember your success stories and use them as markers to rouse yourself to move forward.
Choose Good people to deal with
Make alliances with trustworthy people. Much time and money can be lost wasting your efforts with people of questionable character and reputation. It is impossible to make a good deal with a bad person.
Learn from others mistakes
One of my favorites, success comes easier when we learn from the failures of others. If it doesn’t work for them it likely will not work you. You will make mistakes too, just don’t repeat them. Learn from them, remember every mistake offers an opportunity at redemption and success the next time.
Practice generosity
Success generally comes to people who give rather than greedily hold on to everything they have. Start by being generous with your comments and encouragement. Do what you can, when you can, wherever you can. You will get it back 10 fold.
Life is bad for everyone sometimes so don’t take it personal
Some days you’re the bug, some days you’re the windshield. That’s life. You may not deserve it but it’s inevitable. Don’t take it personal. Life is often unfair, succeed anyway!
Retain or regain your integrity
Without integrity you can achieve minor success but never satisfying success. Any struggle you encounter to maintain your integrity is worthwhile. It makes progress easier.Regain your integrity if you have compromised it.
Start from where you are now
Your goals are important. Before striving for and achieving them, you must determine where you are right now. With a good map you can get anywhere. Point A to Point B. Success is no different. So where are you today?
Become an expert in your niche
It doesn’t matter what your site concept is. It does matter how much you know about it. Readers and visitors pick up on that fast. What is your passion? No matter the category choose that, and write about it. People will come to you as the expert.
A necessary ingredient, high energy
Getting tired yet? Your work requires a great deal of energy. There is a correlation between high energy and success. High energy will sustain you during the down times. You will have high energy for something you love. Do you love it? If so pay the price, the satisfaction you will have will overwhelm you.
You get paid tomorrow for what you do today
Tomorrow’s profits are determined by what you do today. Work first, get paid later. Similar to the Law of the Harvest, not only will you reap what you sow, you will reap later and more than you sow. Start spreading that seed!
Pay it forward
When you are all set, pay it forward; random acts of kindness never hurt anyone.
