A New Look and a New Wordpress Theme

vertigo-red.jpgWhen the technology world gives you lemons you find a way to make lemonade. My recent fiasco to start the week has turned around considerably. For some of you repeat visitors, if I still have any, you will notice a new theme. This sleek clean look comes courtesy of Brian Gardner. I met Brian this morning, online of course, and explored his site and it was love at fist site with this one. He recently released a new series of themes named Revolution that I had a hard time staying away from. In fact , I have decided to use his Revolution themes on a new project I have underway.

Welcome feel free to look around. Subscribing to my Feed or Newsletter guarantees you don't miss any new content, give it two weeks, you will love it RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! Hope to see you again soon.

My Black Monday Saga Continues

As some may know form my previous post my Black Monday was an epic battle between technology and yours truly. I would like to call it a draw but technology gained a slight edge this morning as I was notified by Tim at the Redneck Bar and Grill that he was unable to leave a comment to one of my post. Timmer I left the comment for you, I am sorry about that.
Now my Wednesday will be spent trying to determine what is wrong. Technology challenged but never at a loss for words I will explore my blog for the problem. The thought crossed my mind, to take my own advice and immediately implement option # 18 and just say Screw it and turn my computer off. This is not a veiled attempt at securing comments but a passionate plea from my site visitors for help. If you think you can help I would appreciate anything you can offer. At this point I am at a loss to explain what is going on.

18 Things to do when your Site is Down

Imagine waking up to check your blog and it’s gone. Oh I am sure it is not the first time it’s happened, but it was a new chapter in my blogging life. I discovered it and while at first I did not give it much thought as my morning evolved it became clear this wasn’t gong to be one of my favorite days. Having been in the customer service business my entire life I began to experience the New Business Order first hand. That’s when you realize that all that you really are as a customer and consumer, is a contributor. A contributor to someone’s bottom line. Once you have made your contribution, step aside please, we have no interest in you anymore, unless of course you would like to make another contribution.

Use What You Know to Make Money

I answer e-mails and have conversations every day from people who want to start their own home based business. Usually the conversation includes an idea about purchasing a franchise, and MLM opportunity or an internet marketing possibility. All legitimate, all potentially profitable. The question is are they a good fit for the business. The majority of the time the answer is no. Why?

Compentency or Attitude Which one would you Hire

Recently I posted an article about Choosing Your Attitude. It was generally well received based on the number of sites that tracked back. However, is attitude all you need to be successful? Let’s give that some thought. People often confuse a confidence with competence. Confidence is a function of attitude. Competence is a function of ability. If you think you can do something that is confidence. However if you know you can do something that is competence. The two are vastly different. Add into the equation experience for which there is no replacement.

A Word of Thanks on Thanksgiving

A year ago I was recovering from quintuple bypass surgery on my heart. I don’t suppose I have to tell you but for every breath I have taken since, I am thankful. I started my little blog in early August and would like to extend a few thanks to men and women who took the time to answer silly questions via e-mail, suggest, mentor or otherwise provide guidance. These folks are not listed in any particular order except the first one.
Courtney Tuttle had a Group Writing project to which I submitted an article very late. He graciously accepted it and posted in his 44 Internet Marketing Articles That Everyone Should Read: Internet Marketers Group Writing Project.
That single act of kindness put my blog on the map as many other sites back linked. Court you made this blogger feel worthy. Thank You.

Starting a Business Against the Odds

Q: I want to start a business. But I have bad credit, and everything seems so far off and out of reach (financially and time-wise). Also, I have a 17-month-old baby at home, and I would hate to leave her every day. I’m afraid I’ll miss important milestones. I’d desperately love to work from home, but what I’ve read about home based job opportunities suggests I need to invest more money than I can afford at this time. Is there any hope for me in the near future? Or should I just save, save, save, and maybe eventually I’ll have enough money to do something I love?

Bonds and Blogs on Steroids ?

As a former Fantasy Correspondent for ESPN, I still have a soft spot for sports, all sports. However, baseball will always hold a special place in my heart. I should have had a major league career…but, yeah right, we all just missed didn’t we? Lately blogging for Making Sales Making Money has been keeping me away from the sports world and that is probably a good thing. I can be obsessive compulsive. The Barry Bonds steroids indictment has actually restored a measure of my faith in the “system”.

Selling vs Pre-Selling, A Case Study

Many of us visit dozen of blogs and websites each day. Some you may bookmark, others you may forget that you were a visitor. What makes the difference? What made you think, no this one is not for me. Personally I am a bit apprehensive of the bells and whistles associated with some websites and blogs. I generally seek information when I visit a website, not a cash register. That is the difference in the Pre-Sell and the Sell.
