WordPress or Websites

Often times I am asked by someone wanting to set up an online site as their home based business, should I use Word Press or a website? First off know this. You can make money with both. The arguments for both are valid. Start with an evaluation of your own personality. Your answer is in there.
Blogs
Do you want to maintain a blog? Do you want to post daily with information? Fresh content is what makes a blog in any niche. No fresh content , no traffic. It really is that simple. I work on this blog incessantly and have interviewed others that work 60-80 hours a week on their blogs. That’s a full time commitment to be sure. It is worth it? It sure is for me, but I recognize it’s not for everyone. My personal belief is its hard work that got this blog to where it is, and its hard work that will keep it growing, God willing and staying healthy. Learning to use WordPress should not be a challenge for anyone as there are many resources available to you. Secure your domain and hosting, choose a theme or have one designed for your unique blog. Adii the WordPress Rockstar has partnered with Making Sales Making Money and I’m sure he would be willing to help you with a theme. I personally enjoy the interaction with my readers. I’m a relational person, not everyone is. I get that, but for under $100.00 you will be online and in business in 30 minutes. That my friends is not a bad deal. I have but one regret about blogging. Its that I didn’t start sooner!
Websites
Let say you don’t have 80 hours a week but you have information you are certain would be consumed. Then I would choose a website. Same information, probably similar monetization models and able to draw just as much traffic. Same concept, good content draws traffic. Period. You will still need to add pages and pages of content, but could grow your site in your own time. As we have discussed people come to the internet for information, you will be delivering and over delivering that information in your chosen niche
As most of my regular readers know I am an SBI owner and affiliate. I am making money with Site Sell. Yesterday I answered an email that asked about SBI Hosting. For those that don’t know Site Sell is more than hosting. It costs $299.00 per year for a subscription. Sounds like lots of money. Not when you compare the costs normally associated with setting up a traditional website. I am going to provide a link that presents exactly what Site Sell does for you from site concept, website design, to launch. It is the action guide video you would use to set up your website. Take the time to look at it, I promise, you will learn something from it even if you choose not to purchase. If you are interested you can get 2 sites for the price of 1 until Dec 25th. Click banner below for details. One more thing, they guarantee your success and will refund your purchase price if it is not for you, with a no risk trial.
As for me I couldn’t decide on blogging or a website I chose both. It’s all about opportunities, capitalizing on them creating multiple income streams and yes making money, I couldn’t help myself.

Hi -
I liked the article — good points you make. But why not do both? You can use a WordPress installation as a Content Management System, with a Blog as one of the categories. For examples see this post:

Hi Don,
Great post. As for me, I’d rather use blogs because they crawled by search engines more often than static websites.
