The Truth About Home Based Business Opportunities

The tag line for this site is the truth about home based business opportunities. As we enter a new year my purpose for discovering legitimate home based opportunities has been intensified. Why? Because every where I look I see a scam. Sometimes they are cleverly repackaged and retooled in an effort to gain your attention. Ultimately many of these opportunities only present opportunities for their scammers. Buyers beware. The time has come to share some truth and to present some options. Folks it is what it is , and I must call it like I see it. I am sickened by the extent to which these people will lie, deceive and try to take our hard earned dollars.

The Pitch

salesman.jpgIf you have done any amount of searching on the internet, you have likely happened onto the Ultimate Wealth Builder Program. They claim they will set up your home based business in minutes for free and you will be on your way to making money today. Sound good? It is not the truth.
They prey on the folks that are not internet savvy with the hopes of making money online. Their “no cost service “ will give you a website that no one will come to that displays 3 products that you can choose from Click Bank. You will have a Google Adsense account in place that will make you about .90 cents per month. then comes the up sell. They will register your domain name and set your site will now have a unique URL. Sound Good? It does, until you find out your site is on a shared server with 100 other sites, many of those already blacklisted. So far you have invested about $60.00 with the first level up sell. They do not stop there. You will be contacted by a representative who will offer you a special mentoring program to coach you through the process of your new online venture. The person you will talk to will sound as if they have completed at least the 6th grade and your intelligence will be challenged. You will be told you need traffic to make the site successful and if you sign on to Get Traffic Now, your site will submitted to 100’s of search engines. They won’t tell you no one uses these search engines, but they sell it regardless. If you get through this point in the process you will be down about $150.00 smackers. Now I ask you, how would that feel? Who is really making money in sales with this garbage? Answer , it wont be you if taken by these types.

An Alternative

When I first started this site my ambition was to have 6 niche websites within a year. Along the way my plan was to expose scams and scam artists. My plan has not changed except for one minor detail, and I didn’t need a resolution on New Year’s Day to purpose myself to do so. I now plan to have 50 niche sites by December 31, 2008. That may sound ambitious to some, but I have a philosophy that I have applied my entire business life. “Shoot for the moon, and if you come up short you are still among the stars”. Time to stop thinking and start doing. The plan is in place, and it is time to work the plan.


I am not going to ask you to give me your hard earned money for some garbage that you will regret. I can tell you how to get traffic at no cost, why would I charge you? I am suggesting that you not enter the make money online niche. Avoid it like the plague. You will make money online and you will be making money in sales.

Adding 4 sites a month will take work. It will be worth it. I secured a domain today from Go Daddy to and the ownership transfer is pending, so I am in a hurry up and wait mode. Without giving too much away too soon, it is a vacation destination with an area I am very familiar with. Total investment thus far $ 13.19. I will buy more.

    Niche sites (blogs) seem to be where it’s at since there are hundreds of thousands of strong keywords to launch a blog around.

    Did you secure the domain with a “buy now” transaction? I ask, because I made a bid on one today, and an offer on another, but now have to wait for the days to expire to see if I get it.

    Don has hit the nail on the head! There are tons of people who want to tak eyour dough and make themselves rich. Don’t follow them. Work at it, do the research, invest the time, and don’t expect to make millions overnight.     Glad to see that you are exposing some of the scams out there. I cringe at some of the stuff I see. AND even though I consider myself pretty savvy, bought into a program with lots of promises a little delivery.

    However, I found you via BMM which I think is out there among the stars as far as great programs.
