Everyone that loves their work raise there hand . I’m betting a few of you did the majority did not. Why is that ? Because the simple fact is most people don’t like work. Sounds easy enough right? There are many that do love their work and everything that it provides. I want to give you a few reasons why work doesn’t have to be work, if you are working for the right reasons. There is one simple secret. Your work has to be worthwhile ………..to you
Please, Answer this simple question. Why do you work? Most would say to make money, to provide for their families, or simply to pay bills. Fair enough, but why do so many work at jobs and professions they don’t like? If you don’t feel like you are contributing something of value, then work becomes work. That wouldn’t matter if it was work at home or not. The inevitable bad attitude about your work is on the way. That value judgment comes from you.
Devote some time to discover what makes you happy at work. Hint; its not making money. The next statement may surprise some of you. I don’t work for money. I don’t produce this website for making money. If making money was the source of my happiness, I could just rob a bank and take a few days off. My own self assessment discovery relates to impacting people. Receiving affirmation that I am doing that validates my position and passion. I have to impact people. I want to share some excerpts with 2 people that apparently I had an impact with.
Dave first contacted me a few weeks ago and he sent me an email to share with my readers. He said he had an idea for a blog and couldn’t find the resources to establish his site. The concept for his blog intrigued me. Dave specializes in various interactive tests on I.Q.’s, relationships and personalities. One look at Tickle.com and you will see why I think he could make a go of it.
I wanted to take a moment to write up my experience with a blogger/Internet Marketer named Don Miller. I am fairly new to blogging and actually literally stumbled upon Don’s website www.makingsalesmakingmoney.com while surfing the net.
To be honest, I was looking for some help on some technical issues on my blog so I decided I’d write 2-3 bloggers whose sites I liked and see if they would write me back. I know the likelihood of getting a personal reply was remote, but hey, I sent my emails off anyway.I heard back from all three. Two recommended I buy WordPress for Dummies and that was it.
Don however, wrote back a personal email letting me know that if he would help me in any way, to just email him what I needed. I thought this was unbelievable! So I emailed him my problem. He not only answered every one of my emails, he also called me to help walk me through some technical issues. Again, I was amazed at his sincere desire to help me get these issues resolved and my blog up and running.
Don has bent over backwards to help me with whatever questions I’ve had which speaks volumes about Don’s character as a person and as a marketer.
My blog had sat idle for several months because I didn’t have the bandwidth of time to get through some of the technical issues. With Don’s help he had me up and running in one afternoon.

The truth is we all slip into tailspins now and then. Honestly this email came just when I needed it. I was in one of those tailspins. After receiving these two e-mails I am certain I am doing what I love, impacting people. So now perhaps you are saying, “OK, I get it” but what do I do with the job I hate. I’m glad most of you are sitting down for this answer. “Quit the damn job and find another” What? Yep , people, life is too short, too unpredictable to be miserable for approximately a third of each day. It’s either quit or learn to like the job you have. Perhaps start a blog and a home based business and ease your way out of your job. Loving your work isn’t really that hard when you identify who you are and what makes you tick.
