Its The Business We Have Chosen

istock_000005558176xsmall.jpgThis week I added some 50 + sites to my home based business. My friends it’s a lot of work. Please don’t let anyone tell you it is not. My sleep pattern is , well, not a sleep pattern at all. My girlfriend has helped me as she is a part of the process. My dog thinks I have forgotten him and probably wonders if I am ever going to come out of my home based business office. My hope is that we will all soon be reaping the rewards of our sacrifices, but at the end of the day, it’s the business we have chosen.

The Missing Ingredient: Customer Service

What happened to good old customer service in our world? I mean really, is it possible that while we spend our hard earned money these days we can’t expect something in return. Some dignity. Some friendliness. Some service.

customer service

I really wonder what has become of our 21st century, because just about everywhere I go these days, customer service isn’t existent anymore.

Last week I was skyped by one of my clients who runs a blog. He skyped me to thank me for taking part in his blog’s conversations and interacting with his readers. Naturally you can imagine that I was very much pleased he did this, since commenting is part of my professional blogging services.

So You Want Writing To Be Your Niche?

Home based business opportunitiesSometime back in late March I wrote an article about the lure of easy money. I ended the post with an offer to help anyone with a dream and desire to establish a home based business. I heard from a few WAHM’s, a graphic designer, and some others with different ideas and dreams of the kind of home based business they wanted to start. I generally start my interview by asking them to list a few things about themselves and their passions. From that list, we work together to narrow it down to a list of one. The common theme I found in most all of the inquiries, with the possible exception of one or two, was that they all said they were writers and most of them had writing on their list of ways to monetize to make money online.

Branding Yourself, Where To Start? Personality = Uniqueness

Brand Yourself To Stand Out

Where do you start when creating your brand?  Unique personalities stand out from the crowd.

Your personal brand is the anchor that you tie your online activity to.   Your online presence is the sum total of all your online activity.  I was fielding questions on Monday for a project I am working on when  the question  “what do you mean online presence”?  “Isn’t that just your website”? Was asked.

Some Things You Might Not Know About eBay Users

I wanted to add some more secrets of eBay users to try and help you understand how to capitalize on the habits of eBay users. I have 20-25 BANS sites now. I am planning many more. The majority of my sites will feature collectibles of all types. People collect and people will always collect. They desire to hoard things of all shapes and sizes. Now some will tell you that collecting is their hobby. Okay, that is a reasonable explanation, but not one that I used to decide which direction I would go in choosing my categories and domain names. I promise you what you are about to read will surprise some of you. Here is why. Take a look at this quote.

Bans and The Secrets of Ebay Users

Today I set up 20 BANS Sites. I purchased 20 domains last night. It was not a struggle for me. If this is not the easiest set up of a make money site on the internet, you will have to show me something better. As you know by now, BANS sites pull eBay feeds and within 7 or 8 minutes you will have a BANS Site up and running. A problem for some people is what site keyword or eBay category to choose. I want to give you a look inside the thinking of the regular eBay buyer. Before 911 I made a comfortable living selling on eBay. How much is a comfortable living? I grossed 300 k my last year, and that was comfortable enough for me. BANS sites have restored our relationships and here is why.

When Collecting Is Good For Business

image Being a woman isn’t always easy. My dreams of living in total Zen-harmony are constantly shattered by a hoarding husband who just loves holding on to old stuff because we (might need it again at some stage). If you are a little like me you’ll understand what I mean by this. Don’t worry, hubby has given me full approval to post this, since he actually agrees (go figure).

While living in a cluttered environment can seriously diminish our productivity, holding on to “stuff” is actually good for business.

On Being Remarkable and Being Remembered

What makes a site remarkable? What makes a product or service remarkable? We live in a world that makes being remarkable very difficult. There are millions of people trying to do the same things you want to accomplish. So how do you set yourself apart? Seth Godin made lot of money on the thought of being remarkable. I answered a few comments and e-mails of late and I want to take some time to explore a few ideas. They may or not be remarkable.

What I do find remarkable is it is often easier for me to see being remarkable in others more quickly than I do myself.

Free Yourself From Office Clutter

One of the biggest issues we often have by working from home is the amount of clutter we assemble in our office. The worst kind for me is the digital clutter. I’m not sure how you organize yours, but I’m trying to shed some light on what I do to keep track of my digital and paper clutter.

office clutter

Like with clutter in our home we often tend to think that paper and digital clutter will be used later and therefore we file it away for further use, only to never look at it again.

Does this ring a bell?

The Lure of Easy Money, It’s Gotta Very Strong Appeal

istock_000002737381xsmall.jpgSometimes I wonder why we make things harder than they have to be. Lets be honest. If I’m not mistaken you took some of your time today to read a blog or two or ten. I know I did. I ran across a post from Caroline Middlebrook today about Making Money Blogging by Selling Your Knowledge. At first blush I thought I read the title wrong. After reading it I thought , hallelujah, we agree. That’s not always been the case.

A Blogger In Need And A Friend Indeed

How many times can lightning strike in the same place? Well when is comes to my hosting of this site apparently over and over. This past Saturday night I was chatting with Monika on Skpe and posting an article about choosing partners for your home based business. As always I posted it on Blogging Zoom, but there was an interesting plug in I was looking at and tried to use my FTP client to experiment with it. I soon discovered my hosting had been merged with another account that I own with Blue Host. Initially I was confused, but the site was still operating so I e-mailed support, because their 24/7 support department had the weekend off for Easter.
I woke Easter morning to find my site acting up and quickly backed-up my data base. Then the site disappeared, poof , gone. I was a little more than concerned when my e-mails went un-answered for the better part of 24 hours. I finally reached them at 1 AM my time on Monday morning. Here is where it gets really fun. They have no idea how that happened, nor did they know where my database went. I talked with them on the phone for about 2 hours and gave up
