Monika Mundell Joins the Team and More
Folks I have been away from posting for a bit as I work my plan and the vision into my site. I have been negotiating, communicating, and interviewing various potential contributors for the site. I mentioned earlier it was not going to be easy. It is safe to assume I was correct. It would appear there are a few people interested in taking part of what I want to do for this site. There are many more who want to watch and that’s just fine, I m a show me kind of guy myself. However it is going to happen and I would like to introduce, although she does not need introduction, Monika Mundell. Monika and I first connected through one of her posts, if I recall correctly, and she was the first person to comment on the article on the post about the vision Recently we have been talking up a storm on Skype and I have only grown to like her more. She is an accomplished writer and will contribute weekly to the site with articles of her choosing. I told her I would post her picture on the site, and I have to admit it does add to the beauty of the site. As most of you know she guest posted a couple of weeks ago and her article was a most popular one. She will answer her own comments and I feel privileged to have her on board. Now I have a request, please welcome her on board with a comment. She is the real deal and it’s hard for me to contain my excitement over her contributions.

Baby Steps Lead to Big Changes
For weeks now I have been brainstorming a concept for my home based business. Since the launch of this site in September of 2007 my purpose has been to help others realize their own dreams through my experience over the last 30 years. I have helped some, and for that I am proud. I have tried diligently to filter out the MB’s of garbage out there and offer my readers a safe haven for ideas and concepts they could apply to their own businesses. I have in my estimation made baby steps, but those baby steps will lead to big changes.
The Necessity of Networking
The title says it all. Networking is a necessary component of any business, home based or traditional, yet I still encounter business owners resistant to making an effort to do so. It occurred to me that perhaps I could remind everyone of a few basic fundamentals to restart your networking strategies. Your voice, your words left to their own devices will only go so far. If you could tell 1000 people a day about your business that’s great. There is a ceiling to what you can effectively promote in a given day, but what if those 1000 told a thousand more and so on. When you get others to talk about how remarkable your product or service is, your story becomes viral. The news spreads through multiple sources and your business essentially gets launched

As many of you already know by know, there is a lot of money in niches. But niche sites aren’t straight out niche sites. There is a slight distinction in regards to how a niche can be built and this post will touch on this a little more closely.
But before we go into this I’d like to look at why niche sites hold so much fascination with small home business owners. What gets us excited about building niche sites opposed to building a blog or a website?
Vic Franqui to Make Video Debut On Blogger Unleashed
I had to take some time out and stray off topic today to share this .I stopped by Blogger Unleashed to see how many readers he has added since his hiatus from the site and to see if he had posted anything new. Sure enough his numbers were up and he added a post. Seems he has been busy with restoring his business projects since he and Blogging Zoom were hacked a few weeks ago. The post told us that while he was gone he had purchased a video camera and the related accessories need to start producing Videos on his site. It is a well known fact that Vic’s keyboard doesn’t t necessarily function like most of ours do. For instance where your keyboard has an “a” his has an “r”, etc. By his own admission he cannot type. It’s part of his charm, but his video debut could provide some of the best entertainment in recent memory. Folks this could be fun, but I have some questions that I would like you to answer.
Google Gave A Little Back Today
Court wrote an article the other day on his Google Page rank refund and I commented and subscribed to the comments as I wanted to follow this story. As usual comments poured in and as usual I learned some things. Apparently Google has done some reworking of page ranks including, Making Sales Making Money, The truth about Home Based Business Opportunities. The most recent re-rank occurred some weeks back. The morning of the new rankings I was chatting with Vic on Skype and loaded up my page to see that I was dropped from a PR 3 to a PR 2. I had hoped to either stay a 3 or jump to a 4. Since that time I searched for answers as to why. My research only left me with more speculation, but sincerely felt like I needed to do something. My SERP position was page one for a couple of my chosen keywords and phrases. After the re-rank I could not find it.
Banners Mall, Affordable High End Banner Designs
You may have noticed a new banner on my site. Banners Mall is a new affiliate and like all my affiliates I use their services. I contacted Senthu at Banners Mall about a week ago with a request to design a header for my new Fantasy Baseball News Site. I had chosen a premium theme from Brian Gardner’s Revolution Series and immediately went to work on making it my own and unique. I contacted Sen on a Friday and my new header was delivered on Tuesday. We decided to add one minor edit and minutes later it was on the site adding some pizazz and color . I love the look, and we are going to put him to work on a few more projects.
Social Media Is Not Without Faults
This week I read a post about lessons learned about communities and social media. It was typical of the quality I see on that site.. I commented about the way the author handled the situation which I thought was admirable. The Stumble community had thumbs downed her site on a review. Apparently they were not terribly enthused with my site and domain either. This is the story of how it happened and hopefully helps you. The author of the article is Wendy from e-Moms. I got to learn my own lesson. Folks I love social media and what it can do for anyones site, but it does have some downside.

Getting Legitimate RSS Subscribers
It would seem someone is trying to tell me something about RSS of late. It started rather innocently in a discussion with Vic about his RSS count which by the way is at 954 at the moment. We discussed ways to increase it and I kind of left it that. I have never made a big push for RSS subscriptions since I launched this blog. Shortly after that conversation I was exposed to a post by Maki at Dosh Dosh who put his feed count on his site. Maki said “ My feed count was also deactivated until I reached 8000 subscribers, which means no one could discover how many subscribers” That was accomplished in about a year. What’s more impressive is that he didn’t use conventional methods of building his count.
