Baby Steps Lead to Big Changes

home based business opportunities.jpgFor weeks now I have been brainstorming a concept for my home based business. Since the launch of this site in September of 2007 my purpose has been to help others realize their own dreams through my experience over the last 30 years. I have helped some, and for that I am proud. I have tried diligently to filter out the MB’s of garbage out there and offer my readers a safe haven for ideas and concepts they could apply to their own businesses. I have in my estimation made baby steps, but those baby steps will lead to big changes.

Effective Niche Marketing for Home Based Business

This Post was written by Monika Mundell

As many of you already know by know, there is a lot of money in niches. But niche sites aren’t straight out niche sites. There is a slight distinction in regards to how a niche can be built and this post will touch on this a little more closely.

But before we go into this I’d like to look at why niche sites hold so much fascination with small home business owners. What gets us excited about building niche sites opposed to building a blog or a website?

The Secret of Work Not Really Being Work

Everyone that loves their work raise there hand . I’m betting a few of you did the majority did not. Why is that ? Because the simple fact is most people don’t like work. Sounds easy enough right? There are many that do love their work and everything that it provides. I want to give you a few reasons why work doesn’t have to be work, if you are working for the right reasons. There is one simple secret. Your work has to be worthwhile ………..to you

Getting Legitimate RSS Subscribers

It would seem someone is trying to tell me something about RSS of late. It started rather innocently in a discussion with Vic about his RSS count which by the way is at 954 at the moment. We discussed ways to increase it and I kind of left it that. I have never made a big push for RSS subscriptions since I launched this blog. Shortly after that conversation I was exposed to a post by Maki at Dosh Dosh who put his feed count on his site. Maki said “ My feed count was also deactivated until I reached 8000 subscribers, which means no one could discover how many subscribers” That was accomplished in about a year. What’s more impressive is that he didn’t use conventional methods of building his count.

Following the Leaders, Reaping the Rewards

It has been six months, give or take a day, since I started this blog. I have learned plenty.
I have made money. I have lost money, but, oh my I have learned. My goal was to establish an online business. I read compulsively, all the how to articles, e-books, and references I could put my hands and eyes on. I learned there are those to be trusted online and those to avoid. I learned there are those who proclaim to be leaders. I also learned the real leaders don’t have to tell people, they just are. If you are like me, you spend a portion of each day searching and reading other blogs. I have found out in the last six months some very important things about blog reading. It can waste time like nothing else, and is it not amazing how many blogs are out there touting this or that product or service? Perhaps, even more amazing, are the numbers of blogs all promoting the same products! I mean who do you listen to? Better yet, who do you ignore? If I have learned one thing in the last six months, it is that there is as much, if not more, garbage out there as there is quality sites and information. I remember in the early days visiting the so called A-Listers blogs and getting out of my chair to check my wallet as I clicked on to another site. Here are few leaders I follow.

Caroline Middlebrook and I Just Disagree

Recently I posted an article about Running a Home Based Business, Like a Business. I expressed some warnings and advice about maintaining a measure of structure to your day and warned against among other things, how easily ones business could slip into mediocrity. I’m not quite sure I expected the response and reaction when I posted the article. Meanwhile I became intrigued and moved by two individual posts about the state of bloggers in regard to differences of opinion. Monika Mundell at The Writers Manifesto Blog and RT Cunningham at Untwisted Vortex offered opinions and thoughts that I shared and how those differences often take on an ugly side. I had some views to express myself, but then the blogosphere provided me with an opportunity to explain how I think differences of opinion could be handled.

Home Based Business on a Budget

eagle.jpgPerhaps you have decided you want that home based business. You have read and researched all the available opportunities. You have discovered most take lots of money to start .That is not unusual, but it is not mandatory. For less than the average electric bill or trip to the grocery store you can be the owner of your own home based business. It will not be easy, real business requires work and dedication. I have taken 3 different options for us to explore. You can follow the crowd and get lost in the shuffle or you can choose to determine your own destiny. I have chosen the latter. That choice is available to you as well. You can do what you love and love what you are doing.

Content Writing, The Structure and The Process

Now that my gal pal is content with a few moments of quality time lets continue where we left off in my last post. Hopefully, you have identified who you are as a content writer for your home based business. I promised to show how I write a post, so lets get it started. I try to answer 2 questions with every post I write. What’s in it for them? (readers) and What’s in it for me? Surprised? Don’t be, we all do it even of we don’t ask ourselves the questions. When we force ourselves to focus on the outcome, our writing becomes more effective. When we write we are looking to change the behavior of the reader. We write for reaction to our words

Business Opportunities Weblog and Making Sales Making Money

Business Opportunities Weblog and Making Sales Making Money have joined together in a content contributing project. Sometime ago I was introduced to Dane Carlson’s Business Opportunities Weblog. We work in essentially the same niche and through various conversations he asked me to do a guest post on his site. We check in with one another from time to time, and Dane suggested we do a project together and we agreed to brainstorm for an idea. The result is we will begin to contribute to each other’s site on a regular basis. I will post on his site and he will contribute on Making Sales Making Money.
