So You Want Writing To Be Your Niche?
Sometime back in late March I wrote an article about the lure of easy money. I ended the post with an offer to help anyone with a dream and desire to establish a home based business. I heard from a few WAHM’s, a graphic designer, and some others with different ideas and dreams of the kind of home based business they wanted to start. I generally start my interview by asking them to list a few things about themselves and their passions. From that list, we work together to narrow it down to a list of one. The common theme I found in most all of the inquiries, with the possible exception of one or two, was that they all said they were writers and most of them had writing on their list of ways to monetize to make money online.

Following the Leaders, Reaping the Rewards
It has been six months, give or take a day, since I started this blog. I have learned plenty.
I have made money. I have lost money, but, oh my I have learned. My goal was to establish an online business. I read compulsively, all the how to articles, e-books, and references I could put my hands and eyes on. I learned there are those to be trusted online and those to avoid. I learned there are those who proclaim to be leaders. I also learned the real leaders don’t have to tell people, they just are. If you are like me, you spend a portion of each day searching and reading other blogs. I have found out in the last six months some very important things about blog reading. It can waste time like nothing else, and is it not amazing how many blogs are out there touting this or that product or service? Perhaps, even more amazing, are the numbers of blogs all promoting the same products! I mean who do you listen to? Better yet, who do you ignore? If I have learned one thing in the last six months, it is that there is as much, if not more, garbage out there as there is quality sites and information. I remember in the early days visiting the so called A-Listers blogs and getting out of my chair to check my wallet as I clicked on to another site. Here are few leaders I follow.

Content Writing, The Structure and The Process
Now that my gal pal is content with a few moments of quality time lets continue where we left off in my last post. Hopefully, you have identified who you are as a content writer for your home based business. I promised to show how I write a post, so lets get it started. I try to answer 2 questions with every post I write. What’s in it for them? (readers) and What’s in it for me? Surprised? Don’t be, we all do it even of we don’t ask ourselves the questions. When we force ourselves to focus on the outcome, our writing becomes more effective. When we write we are looking to change the behavior of the reader. We write for reaction to our words
Content Writing with Prejudice, Procrastination and Perfection
Responsibilities, assignments and duties don’t just go away now that you own a home based business. You are now charged with the task for insuring their completion. If you are like most, you are doing this by yourself. It then becomes very important to classify what kind of style you posses when it comes communicating information about your business. Since we are in the information business, let’s concentrate on how we write an article. Properly written your article should encourage your reader to read the next sentence and the next one and the next one and so on. Before we tap the first keystroke, we need to discover our own identity. Who we are determines how we communicate, whether verbally or the written word. As you will find out near the end of this article, time and priorities become very important.
Business Opportunities Weblog and Making Sales Making Money
Business Opportunities Weblog and Making Sales Making Money have joined together in a content contributing project. Sometime ago I was introduced to Dane Carlson’s Business Opportunities Weblog. We work in essentially the same niche and through various conversations he asked me to do a guest post on his site. We check in with one another from time to time, and Dane suggested we do a project together and we agreed to brainstorm for an idea. The result is we will begin to contribute to each other’s site on a regular basis. I will post on his site and he will contribute on Making Sales Making Money.
Here’s a Quick Way to Get A Few Links In Your Niche
Perhaps this article is a little off topic for my blog , but I feel it does pertain to your home based business and the authority your site will ultimately have. Court recently posted and outstanding article about building your links and not just any links but the links to sites in your niche. If you are like me, finding those sites and linking to them is a slow process. Finding quality links in your niche may be even harder. No doubt a challenge, but that can’t prohibit us from trying every available resource do get it done. Authority of your site is everything, when is comes to your home based business. You need sites to link to yours in your niche. I have a ton of links to my site as I found out on a recent audit, most were in a contest niche , the result of a few contest that I ran, that is going to change, that project is underway.
Define your Niche, Stay in Your Niche
Lately I have looked at many sites that seem to lack specific focus. After arriving to the site I am generally confused as to what the site is about. The article titles cover a wide range of topics. I usually leave with the thought of; what the heck was that? Properly researched your niche not only should be defined, one should seek to focus specifically on your chosen field. Your objective for your home based business is to become an authority in your field. Many take a shotgun approach to blogging and websites, adding banners and ads from every conceivable resource, making an effort at getting traffic and with a hope and a prayer, start checking their affiliate stats pages for income. If that is working for you, good for you, here is to your prosperity. It won’t for most.
